The Dr. Ronald C. and Linda K. Evans Family Board Specialty Scholarship

The Dr. Ronald C. and Linda K. Evans Family Board Specialty Scholarship honors the extraordinary legacy of Dr. Ronald C. Evans, a distinguished leader in chiropractic orthopedics and neuromusculoskeletal medicine whose work profoundly shaped chiropractic specialty education and certification.

From the early 1980s onward, Dr. Evans devoted his career to clinical excellence, education, and scholarly achievement within the chiropractic profession. He was a respected educator, lecturer, and author of the textbook Illustrated Chiropractic Physical Assessment, which became a foundational resource for chiropractic physicians in orthopedic and physical assessment.

Dr. Evans developed the original blueprint for the Part II Diplomate Examination now administered by the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (IANM). Over the course of his career, he served in leadership and advisory roles with the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists, the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists, the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, the Council on Chiropractic Orthopedics, and the American Chiropractic Association.

For all his contributions to scholarship and specialty education, Dr. Evans found his greatest joy at the bedside — in the daily work of caring for patients. He loved the clinical practice of chiropractic and the difference it made in people’s lives, and that love was the source of his teaching. He wanted every student he mentored to find the same joy in serving their patients that he had found in serving his own.

His commitment to specialty education and to mentoring future diplomates left a lasting mark on the profession, and his legacy continues to inspire generations of chiropractic specialists committed to excellence in patient care.

Scholarship Eligibility

The scholarship is available to licensed Doctors of Chiropractic practicing in the United States who have completed a minimum of 50 hours of postgraduate education toward the IANM Diplomate in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

Application Period

Applications are accepted annually from January 1 through April 30. Applicants selected to receive the scholarship will be notified no later than July 15 of the application year.
